Toni, one of my followers on Facebook needed a little extra help with inspiration for her Wedding and requested a ‘burlap & dried lavender’ board for a relaxed affair on her big day. Her main areas of help were needed for Bridesmaids colours, favours & Wedding hair so hopefully i have helped tackle all three and a little more 🙂
Neutral, light coloured bridesmaids are highly fashionable this year after Kate Middleton’s ivory maids. I picked a textured nude shade with beautiful lace from Phase Eight, which would be perfect for your ladies to wear again after your day! To tie in with the lavender, you could team with light lavender heels and/or the ‘Olivia’ hair comb that features hand cut burlap leaves & dried lavender too. If the dress colour is too pale why not switch them around and have light lavender dresses with nude shoes?
Keeping the natural theme going – for favours i added a recipe for lavender honey, which is so simple to make! Purchase or save up mis matched jam jars – petit ones would be best, then fill with your honey & slick on a personalised label with you & your grooms names/surname. You could even make it together or have your bridesmaids help out.
Braids are increasingly popular in bridal hair, you could have a half up half down ‘do’ and wind dried lavender into the plait. Another idea is to braid the top part of your hair (as pictured on the left) and then have a low curled messy bun for the ceremony which you can unwind later in the day.
My favourite part of the board would have to be the stylish table setting. Burlap bows, pale crockery and sparkling candlesticks with flashes of babys breath/gypsophila – fabulous!
