Maybe a bit of an odd post with the weather being so stuffy and warm, but a lovely bride asked me for some help with her Winter Wedding. Sarah was struggling to get creative with her Purple & Silver colour scheme and told me she wanted her venue to feel Wintery rather than Christmassy.
The bride is already sorted with a lot of things but needed an extra bit of inspiration when it came to favors, venue decor & accessories for her bridesmaids (wearing dark purple) and flowergirl.
Accessories-wise i added vintage crystal hair pins for a little added sparkle on the bridesmaids. A modern idea but – instead of floral arrangements you could treat your maids to a glittering clutch bag that they can hold whilst walking down the aisle. The perfect Wintery accessory is a white feather or fur shrug and the John Lewis one pictured looks beautifully soft and could be used for the bride or bridesmaids.
I’m sure any flower girl would love walking down the aisle in the shimmering Monsoon dress which also comes in Purple. You can be playful with the flower girl’s accessories and have her with iconic winter symbols like snowflakes or stars in her hair.
For favours i have suggested pashminas for your guests. Pick them in your colour scheme and buy in bulk off somewhere like ebay for cheaper deals. Hang them from your guests chairs or have them fashionably rolled in a basket with a quirky message. Another idea is to add a personal touch and share recipes with your guests. Homemade jams, Candycane Hot Chocolate or dry Cookie ingredients layered up (as shown) are really fun favors for your guests to indulge in around the holiday season 😉 You could even get your bridesmaids to help out.
For the decor either go simple and chic – bold coloured napkins with snowflake place cards and silver/crystal candlesticks for classy romance. Or go all out with gypsophila/baby’s breath pomanders hanging from the ceiling if you can (this can even be sprayed tastefully with glitter) and Silver branch displays with tea lights hanging in glass baubles. You could even mix and match – have the simply stylish look on your tables, and use the silver branch display as a guest book – get the guests to write messages on paper tags and tie them to the branches. The pomanders can be made smaller and hung from the end of the aisle seating.
Hope i’ve helped inspire your big day Sarah!
